The interior for the Coupe X has a heavy
Scandanavian influence, with clean, modern and uncluttered surfaces. Reference was taken from interior and furniture design. Particularly from the
Arne Jacobssen Ant chair.

Horizontal lines are created by wooden surfaces
wrapping around the IP and flowing into the door to give an integrated appearance. Pale laminate gives a modern fresh ambience, in contrast with traditional veneers.
Fabric and leather choices inspired by the color of the wooden cottages that decorate the Swedish landscape.  
 
   
Exterior development continued with Photoshop
renderings exploring surface treatment.
Saab design cues can be found in the wrap around windscreen, and the ‘hockeystick’ DLO which in this case has been applied to the B pillar.
 
               
                     
                 
               

A strong shoulder with a soft radius flows down the side of
the car, finishing in a vent forward of the ‘A pillar’.
The line of the shoulder continues into the top of the headlamp further adding continuity and fast horizontal lines.
Bulging arches give added muscle. Overhangs are visually reduced with large ‘lead-in’ between the body sides and the front and rear of the car.

The rear of the Coupe’ X features a fully functional pick-up bed with drop down tail-gate for ease of loading. This design offers the possibility to carry outsize loads while keeping the passenger area
separate. Giving real practicality while retaining the
desirability and sleek appearance of a sophisticated Coupe’.
                     
               

< Side mirrors are integrated
with the bonnet vent, with the mirror arm continuing the curvature of the windscreen.
                     
             
The presentation Alias renderings show the final exterior.
Smooth elegent coupe proportions are complemented by surface treatment that communicates a sleek, solid ‘cast from metal’ appearance. This increases the perception of quality, durability and class.
The front of the car has recieved the same treatment, though it has to be added that the flat bonnet and soft radiuses are intended to help pedestrian impact performance.
