To many the closest they can get to experiencing jet fighter thrills
is on an exhilarating contemporary sports bike.

My main motivation was to create an exciting and visually dramatic form. I wanted to produce a design that would be considered radical as a Norton motorcycle.

Early sketches were thought to be an over literal application of the Jet fighter influence. After feedback the styling evolved in a more organic direction.
A full size 1:1 tape drawing is from a stage when I was exploring a SuperMoto /Streetfighter hybrid style.
The return of the rotary engined Norton :)

1/4 scale clay model was invaluable when gaining
a full understanding of the complex form.
An agressive almost ‘Bio mechanical’ appearance
was the result.
The exhaust exits through the top of the rear bodywork in the style of current F1 cars.
- No rear pillion!
This emphasizes the super sports nature of the bike.

Narrow bodywork and agressive cooling intakes were products and requirements of the rotary powerplant.
