We started with an ideation sketch phase in which we investigated how to apply the five known senses in a transportation context.
We were then asked to bring together the ideas from this exploration in order to create a concept which best incorporated all the senses, while at the same time invoking the illusive ‘6th’ sense.

In-car audio taken to new extremes delivering
low frequencies straight to the listener with
this ‘Sub seat’.

  Man’s age old quest for personal flight deserves
a fresh look with the application of contemporary materials and technology.

An autonomous flying aid -
allowing the skier to continue despite ‘flat light’
low visibility, and unfamiliar terrain.
The origin of the concept that I would develop.

My early sketch development was concerned with
visualising my key aim;
'Maximising user interaction with the snow'
In order to activate and assault all of the senses!

I took Inspiration from sports that gave the rider the same feeling of exhileration that I wished to provide.

The series of sketches above show how the configuration evolved as concerns were raised over the riders’ ability to use ‘core body strength’ in order to make quick changes in direction and attitude.

The evolution of the configuration, changing and becoming more upright as concerns about useability were addressed.
The next step was to develop a method of isolating
the rider from bumps and shocks.
